Our History
1981
Our Doors Open
Foley & Foley was established when insurance specialist Mark Foley and his investment-savvy son, Kevin, CLU, ChFC, joined forces to create a financial services firm—a relatively new concept at the time. There were no computers, and IRAs were just beginning to be sold at the investor level.
The firm was established as a subsidiary of Steinhaus Financial Group in Columbus, Ohio—an affiliate of Lincoln Financial Advisors and one of the largest financial planning firms in the state at the time
1985
The Beginnings of Success
In 1985, Mark and Kevin hired their first employee to support them in their growth, and a number of accolades and accomplishments followed including:
1988 Kevin being named one of the National Top 10 Investment Producers* for Lincoln Financial Advisors (*based on gross investment sales production for prior 12 months)
1988 Kevin awarded with Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation
1989 Kevin becoming involved with Deacon leadership at what is now Grace Polaris Church
1990
A Shift in Focus
The firm changed its focus to wealth accumulation utilizing investment products rather than insurance-based products. They hired Gayle McKearin, who helped focus the firm on even higher customer service standards.
1991 The Team Changes; The Name Remains ; Health concerns cause Mark Foley to retire, leaving the firm in the hands of Kevin, who kept the name Foley & Foley.
1995
Committed to Community
In the second half of the decade, Kevin Foley begins to put his beliefs into even greater practice. In 1995, he and a team of families left Polaris Grace Church to build and grow Grace Church in Powell, Kevin was named an Overseer of Financials and was selected to serve as an Elder, a position he continues to hold. Kevin also began serving as the Head Wrestling Coach at Worthington Christian Schools. In addition he was named to the Top 1% of advisors for total production at Lincoln Financial Advisors.
1999
A Leap of Faith
Foley & Foley decides to become an independent firm, leaving Steinhaus and the Lincoln Group, and joining the advisors affiliate with Raymond James. Financial Advisors Resources (FAR) was established as a joint venture in order to become more efficient and effective at serving and advising clients.
2000 More Growth; The new century saw even more growth as Foley& Foley services clients in more than 25 states.
